APOSTLE, Nicholas (Senior) - Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on August 1st, 2010 at the Sault Area Hospital. Beloved husband and companion of his wife of 61 years, Zina Mary (Bordin). Loving father of Vivian (Bob Graham), Dr. Peter Apostle (Carrie Hughes), Nicholas James (Karen Butcher), and Myra (Jeff Mitchell). Pre-deceased by his parents Peter and Katherine (Moutsatson) and siblings John, Peter, Mary (Bellinger) and Helen (Peterman). A wonderful 'Poppy' to 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Nick lived all his 90 years in the Soo. He attended Central Public School and Soo Tech. He was a good athlete and played competitive City League basketball. He remained an avid sports fan all of his life, especially hockey, baseball, and golf. Nick was a member of the YMCA until he was 89 years old. He was also a veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force. A service for family to celebrate his life was held at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Wednesday, August 4th. Internment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital or St. Jerome's Building Fund would be appreciated.
