Peacefully after a brief bout with cancer at the Sault Area Hospital on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the age of 65 years. Loving husband of Pauline. Loving father and mentor of Jeremy and his wife Jenna. Proud Papa of Cole. Sadly missed by his loyal companions Tiika, Haylie and Aspen. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Nora Van Hoek and his sister Barbara Walker. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews; and his Thursday Lunch Gang of the last 35 years. Special thanks to the Sault Ste Marie Fire Service and Paramedics for their caring response, Family and Friends for their love and support during this time and the staff of the SAH. Family and friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial donations made to the Sault Ste Marie Professional Fire Fighters Charities Account would be appreciated by the family.
