Obituary of Carmen Gioia

Unexpectedly doing what he loved Carmen passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the age of 67.  Dearly loved husband of Jutta Gioia for 44 years.  Cherished father of Barbara and Robert.  His special bond with his grandchildren Karmyn and Brooke will never be forgotten.  There will only be one “Nannuzzo!” Predeceased by his parents Stanislao and Maria Gioia. Dear brother of Giuseppe Gioia (Teresa), Eugene Gioia (Silvana) and Alfonso Gioia (Rita).  Brother-in-law of Wendy Shillington (Jamie). Carmen will be dearly remembered by his special friends Gaetano and Raffaelina Iannelli, Guenter Raabe (late Margot) and his many nieces and nephews. Carmen loved to entertain family and friends at St. Joe’s Island annually with his famous pizza and bread.  This hunting season he will be dearly missed by his gang. His soccer legacy as a player and coach will live on through his team. Forza Milan! Friends are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service in the Chapel on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Mrs. Helen Smith officiating.  Memorial donations to the SAH Cancer Care Fund or ARCH would be appreciated by the family.
