Obituary of Antonio Mallia

Born June 18, 1927 in Pachino, Sicily.  Passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side at Extendicare Mapleview Nursing Home on Sunday, June 4, 2017, just two weeks before his 90th birthday. Beloved husband of the late Vincenza Mallia; together now for eternity.  Survived by his three loving children Frank Mallia (Tammy), Lina Yerdon (Peter) and Angelo Mallia (Renèe).  Caring and loving grandfather of Anthony Mallia, Robert Mallia (Laura), Kathleen Ager (Michael), Christina Yerdon, Andrea Yerdon and Codi Gareau.  Loving great and great great grandfather of Sophia, Luca, Jayda, Aiden, Andrew, Dominic and Marshal Mallia, Anna Ager, Denver, Danica and Isabella.  Predeceased by his parents Francesco and Pasqualina Mallia, along with his brothers and sisters-in-law Gaetana Sortino, Carmella Schembri, Antonio Sortino and Victorio Onorato.  Antonio will be missed by his brother Sebastian Mallia (Carmela) and nephew Frank and niece Linda with their families.  Also by his many brothers and sisters-in law, nieces and nephews from the Toronto Area.  Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard Majella Church on Friday, June 9, at       11: 00 a.m. with Father Francis Ezenezi officiating.  Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum.  Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to the many PSW’s and caregivers who cared for Antonio over the years and especially at Mapleview Twin Lakes.
