Obituary of Rebecca Genys

 Passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the age of 59.  She was the devoted wife for over 22 years to Joe Genys and will be remembered by her step-son Craig Genys.

Rebecca was the daughter of the late Reverend Paul and Ida Royster of Edgewood, Kentucky and daughter in-law of the late Ignas and Pauline Genys of Sault Saint Marie, Ontario. 

She is survived by her beloved sister Deborah Weaver and brother Samuel Royster (Cynthia), her nephew, Nathan Weaver (Britt) and 3 great nephews;

Sister in-law of Sonny (Dorothy), Albert (Jackie) Genys, John Shoust (Donalma), Brian Shoust, the late Mary “Bunny” Kelly (Bill), Susan Behnke (Brent) and her many nieces and nephews.

Rebecca had a zest for life and could light up a room with her beautiful smile. She had a passion for people and loved helping those in need.

Her greatest enjoyment in life was being with her family and working in her gardens.

She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Special thanks to the ICU unit at the Sault Area Hospital for the care given to Rebecca and the kindness to her family.

Burial to follow in Henderson, Kentucky, USA.  A memorial service will be conducted at a later time. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758).

Memorial donations can be made to the Soup Kitchen.
