I have many fond childhood memories of coming to the Sault and going to the cottage. Great Aunt Glorya always sitting at the table for a game of Rummoli. Or playing in the lake. And picking Blueberries at Great Uncle Derno and Great Aunt Dorthy’s. And Great Aunt Eileen’s Scottish brogue. “Very rude, eh!” So much love for Great Aunt Glorya and her generation. I have a heartfelt card from her from when her niece, my Aunt Norma, passed away 24 years ago that I have treasured. I hope and pray we keep in touch with all of you.

So very sad and sorry to hear about Glorya's death. My sincere condolences to Karen and Toni (my high school friends) and the rest of the family. Glorya was a kind, loyal, and welcoming friend to my mom, Loretta DeLonghi. She kept in touch by phone after my mom's move to Toronto during the pandemic. And I know my mom is feeling sad and shocked by the loss of her longtime friend. I will remember Glorya for her hospitality, hosting us for a day at her cottage one summer, for example. I will miss her teasing sense of humour, sharp mind. and nose for news. On a visit to the Sault a couple of years ago, we had coffee at her house and she said she had been watching the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard case online. I remember thinking how much I admired Glorya's enduring curiosity and engagement in the world that way, not to mention her facility with technology. I will miss her, and I will miss asking my mom, "Have you talked to Glorya lately? ... How's Glorya?" Peace be with all of you.

Toni, Karen, Paul, and families: I was so sorry to hear about Auntie Glorya's passing. She was an amazing woman--funny, strong, a community leader, a trailblazer, and she was also kind. It sounds like she had some time to slow down and reflect as her time drew near, but not a lingering difficult illness, which is a blessing. I have such wonderful memories of her, especially out at the camp the last few times I was in town with my boys. A life well-lived for sure. I will smile when I think of her.
