Very sad news for us. Fellow Scot and Bruins fan. Clair was a great neighbor. Helped us out when we had tractor issues. Always tooted the horn when he drove by. A bright light has gone out in our small community. Condolences to Sandy and family.

Clair Campbell will always be remembered as a basketball star at SCI. While our football team didn't always clinch victory, with Clair at the helm, we had a blast trying! Come basketball season however, the gym was the place to be, buzzing with excitement every weekend. Those games became a cherished winter tradition, warming us all with community spirit and thrilling plays. Thank you, Clair, for the memories and the joy.

Clair was a class mate at Collegiate and I played football with Clare and watched his basketball games. He was an excellent athlete. He always reminded me that he was 1/10 of a second faster than me in the 440 and that allowed him to go on to the next level. As it was said, Clare was a story tell and I will always remember his entertaining stories that were funny and kind. He will be missed.

Great memories of Mr. Campbell at Bawating as my teacher, one of my favourites. I remember him teaching us about the lesser known 6th Great Lake, Lake Clair. Great sense of humour. Condolences to the family.

Clair was a loved member of the high school sports community. Kids at CASS especially knew him well, and I know the student referees loved spending time with him when he spent his days at our school sports games. We were so excited to see him show up; he always had kind words and a laugh for us. He was so appreciated and will be so missed.

Mr Campbell was one of the rare bright spots in my high school experience. For a weird kid on the margins, having a teacher not only accept me but embrace me for the weirdo I was, it meant everything.
Without him, I don’t know if I would have made it to graduation. As a university professor now, his legacy has guided me to become the educator I am today.
May his family find comfort in knowing that he really did touch the hearts and minds of the students who came through his classroom.
