Gary Fedorowich

Obituary of Gary Fedorowich

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our dad, Gary on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the age of 57.

Beloved husband of the late Sally whom he missed dearly. Youngest son of the late Helen and the late Nick Fedorowich. Dear brother of Donna (Art) and Rick (Lorna). A proud dad of Ashley (Jordan) and Taylor (Joey). And as a prouder papa, he leaves behind his granddaughters Ally and Riley. A loving stepfather in the lives of Ingrid and Heidi, he will be missed by them and their families. Cherished dearly by his loving friends, Steve, Matt & Bruce, whose friendship brought him joy and comfort throughout the years.

Gary’s career with Algoma Steel introduced countless friends and associates who will miss him, especially the Ladle Preparer department where he spent the last 20+ years. He was a dedicated 2251 union member and delegate for his steelmaking brothers and sisters. His experience and knowledge will live on as long as the company produces steel.

Gary would give anyone the shirt off his back, help out whenever and wherever, and was always willing to pass on his experience and knowledge to anyone he could. He always did what was right.

He was happiest in the great outdoors with a fishing rod in one hand, a beer in the other and surrounded by family. He was a man of few words, but he also loved a good argument. He could always be found in a pair of blue jeans and a ball cap - no matter the weather or occasion. While he has left us here to cheer on the Leafs alone, his memory will live on in every cast of a line, flicker of a campfire, and ice-cold Molson Canadian raised in his honor.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gary’s life and retirement at the Moose Lodge (543 Trunk Road) on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. In memory of Gary’s signature style, denim attire is encouraged.

Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).

Rest Easy Dad, you deserve it.
