Obituary of Michael Currie

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Michael surrounded by those he loved most, at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, July 24, 2025. He was 75 years old. Born on March 16, 1950, in High Prairie, Alberta, Michael lived a life defined by kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to his family. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend, Catherine, and his cherished daughter, Samantha Currie (Matt Blais). Michael was the proud and playful grandfather of Lilliana and Marq, who brought immense joy and pride to his later years.
 

Michael will be remembered for his gentle spirit, quick wit, and the quiet wisdom he shared with those around him. His love for family was the guiding light of his life, and he leaves behind a legacy of warmth, integrity, and generosity.
 

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate nursing staff of 3C at the Sault Area Hospital for their care and support, as well as the support team at Bayshore Home Healthcare, specifically Andrea.
 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) are greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
