Obituary of Larry Middaugh

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Larry, who passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the age of 75.

Larry was born on April 19, 1950, on Manitoulin Island, Ontario, where his love for the outdoors began. Throughout his life, he was known for his kindness, sense of humour, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

Larry’s greatest pride was his family. Larry is predeceased by his late wife, Jean (nee Garson). He will be remembered by Brenda Bailey, the mother of his three youngest children.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Sonya Bailey (Dwayne), Michelle Middaugh, Nicole DeBruin (Greg), Evan Middaugh and Ashley Middaugh (Michael).

He was a devoted grandpa “grumpa” to: Chance, Skyler, Xander, Soren, Colton, Cara, Kelsey, Paige, Chloe, Emma, and Jessa.

He will be dearly missed by his ten siblings, their spouses, many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A Celebration of Life honouring Larry’s life and memories was held by his immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Society of Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District.

The family would like to acknowledge the care and support given by the staff at the Sault Area Hospital, the Bayshore Care Team, and special thanks to the many doctors and nurses who helped, especially Dr. Oliver.
