Obituary of Sharon Bovingdon
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon, a kind and beautiful soul, who left us peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the age of 61.
Born with a gentle spirit and a passion for others, Sharon lived a full and vibrant life, always led by compassion, warmth and a deep love for her family.
Her journey through life was as diverse and inspiring as her heart was generous. She first found joy as a talented hairstylist, where she not only styled hair, but lifted spirits. Her love for adventure and people took her to the skies as a dedicated flight attendant, exploring the world with a smile and grace that made every passenger feel at home. Later in life, she answered her true calling as a nurse, where her natural kindness and strength touched countless lives.
Sharon found her greatest peace living along the shores of Lake Superior at Sunnyside Beach, where the calm waters, breathtaking sunsets and beauty mirrored her serene and nurturing nature. Her zest for travel brought her to many parts of the world.
To know Sharon, was to know someone who gave selflessly, loved deeply and laughed often. Her sweet smile, listening ear and quiet strength will be missed beyond words.
Sharon cared for her beautiful mother and best friend, Eva, her late father Bill and her fur baby Marley. The special relationship between mother and daughter was an inspiration to all and their love shined through every day. Sharon was her mother’s heart’s ancho, her confidante, her biggest cheerleader and her dearest friend. The love they shared was visible in every smile. Their relationship was one of deep friendship, fierce devotion and unconditional love. Her most cherished moments were spending time with her mom, siblings, nieces and nephews who Sharon considered her life’s greatest blessing and loved them all as if they were her own.
Sharon was blessed with lifelong friendships that brought warmth and laughter to every stage of life. Sharon leaves behind not only family, but also a chosen family of remarkable friends including Mona, Franca, Kim and Sam. Her amazing and supportive friends were always by her side. She poured love into each of their lives, and they will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Sharon is survived by her beloved family, mom Eva (late Bill), Tom (Heather), John (Sandra) and Nancy (Vern Milosevich) and her cherished nieces and nephews. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her love will continue to guide and comfort us always.
We will gather to honour Sharon’s life at a later date where friends and family are welcome to share memories of a truly beautiful life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society, the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) or Tracy’s Dream, to honour her legacy of caring.
A heartfelt thank you to the Bayshore nurses and Dr. Apostle for all of Sharon’s care.
