Obituary of Deborah Braido
In loving memory of Debbie, a devoted wife, cherished mother, and grandmother whose unwavering love, kindness and compassion for others has touched the lives of many.
Born on September 17, 1954, she served as a Registered Nurse for 40 years at the Sault Area Hospital, specializing in obstetrics and renal dialysis. Her commitment to her profession was matched only by her boundless empathy and kindness towards her patients.
Debbie wanted to leave a few of her own words for her family to remember:
To my husband Mike, we have shared 48 years of marriage which our partnership has been built on love, respect and mutual support. We have navigated life’s joys and challenges together forming a bond that stood the test of time! Your undisputed dedication to our relationship and caring love I have felt in these many years will not go untold!!
My sweet little Mikaila, Paxton, Nylah and Jordan, I will be watching over you my beloved grand-babies. Always in my heart and you will feel my presence always. REMEMBER ME!
My children Mike and Jeff, know that I always have been sooooooo in love with you both!!!! I always have hoped for awesome things for you, and I am so proud of you both! My unconditional love and unwavering support will forever be etched in your hearts.
My daughters-in-law Karen and Sarah, MY SONS are so lucky to have partners that love them so much.
I have no regrets as I have had a life fit for a queen! Given the name Queenie by Mommy is so appropriate! My many days of travel have fulfilled my dreams, and I have met many wonderful people that have made me whole! My cherished memories of sunshine, warmth, laughter with friends and adventures in Isla Mujeres mean so much to me. The many people of this Mexican Island have left a profound impact on me, and I truly hope they feel the same.
I loved my job as a nurse at the SAH for all the years and hope I made a difference for many women in labour and delivery and became a friend to many in Renal Dialysis. To all my dedicated co-workers, I couldn’t have walked so far in this journey if it wasn’t for your support and many kind words.
There will be a Celebration of Life at The Machine Shop on Monday, August 18, 2025. Ceremony on the mezzanine at 3:00 p.m. not to be missed! Sharing of stories, memories and tributes are welcome. Following the ceremony, friends can gather in the main hall until 7:00 p.m.
My ashes will be set free to join the dolphins, just outside the island of Isla Mujeres in the Caribbean Sea. My heart has always been there!! The most heartfelt relationships and people close to me reside and/or vacation there. My second home always.
My inspirations in life – LIVE – LOVE – LAUGH – DANCE
