Obituary of John Misener

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) on Friday, August 15^th, 2025. John was granted the desire of his heart and is now with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Beloved husband and best friend of Jean Misener for 62 years. Dearly loved son of the late Ross and Velma Misener. Dear brother of Elaine Hardstone (late Bruce), late Jim, late Esther and Eunice Fennema (Henry).

Beloved father of Scott (Judy), Lori Corkery (Dennis), Lawrence (Jennifer), Peter (Bridget).

Cherished Grandpa to Adam (Kari Van Mierlo), Leah Morrow (Mike), Jake (Rebecca), Mason (Rose Bullock), Katelyn Shantz (Fred), Nick, Dylan, Moriah Hurley (Rob), Jo-Hannah Cedolia (Jacob), Benjamin (Taimi Johnson).

Loving Great Grandpa to Adeline, Evelyn, Melvin, Tyler, Sophie, Miah, Addison, Jack, Oriana and Isobel.

John will also be missed by his nieces and nephews whom he held dear.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the compassionate care of Dr. Apostle and the staff at the Algoma Residential Hospice and the Sault Area Hospital.

Family and Friends are invited to celebrate John on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church (465 Albert St. E.) with Pastor James Thomas officiating. Refreshments downstairs to follow the service. Memorial donations to ARCH, SAH or First Baptist Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.
