Obituary of Allen George Brown

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Allen at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at the age of 88. Despite facing numerous health challenges over the past few years, Al always remained a beacon of positivity and good nature, embracing life with a sense of dignity and faith.

Loving husband of Janis for 44 years. Father of Tony, Steve (Sue), Richard (Cheryl) and Ellen (Danny). Grandfather of Scott (Nicole), Amy (Trevor), Alica (Bryan), Jordan, Sterling (Jessie), Kaelan, Tristan, Shayla, Sydney and great grandfather of six.

Al was a man who could always be counted on. Whether supporting his family, tackling projects for friends or offering steady guidance, he lived with purpose and conviction. Though reserved, he has a sharp wit and a great sense of humour. He embraced life with a spirit of adventure and steadfast faith. Al worked at Algoma Steel as an Accountant.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Laurie Stevenson officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Emergency Department at the Sault Area Hospital, Sault Ste. Marie Ambulance Services, the many Doctors, Nurses, Personal Support Workers and the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) for the care and compassion shown to Al and his family.
