Virginia Famiglietti

Obituary of Virginia Famiglietti

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our dear mother, Virginia, on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Michele. Beloved mother of Maria Dagenais and Sue Famiglietti.

Virginia was born in Frigento, Avellino, in the Campania region of Italy, to the late Andrea and Anna Maria Stanco. Sister of Arcangelo (late Enza), of Switzerland, the late Carmine (late Giuseppina), the late Tommasina Consilia Cantoni (late Emo), the late Tommaso (late Teresina), the late Teresa Panarese (late Gennaro) and the late Carmela. Sister-in-law of the late Carmina Cipriano (late Rocco), the late Rosaria Martone (late Michele), the late Giuseppina Flammia (late Giuseppe), and the late Angelina Teta (late Alessandro). She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews in Italy, Switzerland, and Windsor/LaSalle/Amherstburg, Ontario.

Our mom immigrated to Canada from Italy in 1957 and she and our dad were married in 1958. She loved to cook and worked in restaurants for over 30 years making delicious dishes, pizzas and pies. She had a love for gardening and growing vegetables. She loved making tie plates and genettis and shared them with her friends and neighbours.

A private family service will be held. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to SAH Complex Continuing Care would be greatly appreciated by the family.

We would like to thank her family doctor, Dr. Maione, Tammy and physiotherapist Corey from Ontario Health at Home, the wonderful caring team at Voyago, PSW Toni-Marie, Dr. Weatherall, Dr. Anagnostopoulos and all the nurses and psw's at the Sault Area hospital who took great care of our mom.

Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be offered at www.northwoodfuneral.com
