Obituary of Joseph Kudlac, P. Eng.
Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Doris, with whom he shared an incredible 71 years of marriage. He was the proud father of Sheree (Bob), Kim (Roby), Paul (Earlyn), Susie (Konrad), Stephanie (Evan), and Anjela (Bill). He was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren each of whom brought him endless joy. Known for his playful spirit and boundless imagination, Joe was always finding ways to make life fun for the children. Joe was a loving brother to the late Theodore, Violet and Willy.
Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Joe met Doris in Southern Ontario before the couple decided to head north. Joe was hired by the Dept of Highways as a Civil Engineer. He later worked for many years at Algoma Steel eventually retiring to Goulais River, where he returned to his roots in farming and proudly applied his Degree in Agriculture.
Over the next 50 years, Joe became a beloved part of the Goulais River community. He was admired for his kindness, integrity and dedication - a man who left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Joe's legacy of love, laughter and hard work will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Private family service will be held at the Goulais River Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to a Come and Go Celebration of Life on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 starting at 12:30 p.m. at the home of Joe and Doris (166 Witry Road, Goulais River). All are welcome. In memory of Joe, donations to the Northern Critters In Need, reflecting his lifelong compassion for animals and rural life, would be greatly appreciated.
