Obituary of Kathryn Hunter

With deep sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of Kathryn at the FJ Davey Home on Monday, October 6, 2025, in her 69th year.

Kathryn was a kind and generous soul who was well liked by everyone she met. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to bingo, watching soap operas and exchanging letters with pen pals through the world. She was an animal lover who enjoyed feeding the birds and interacting with different dogs on her walks.

She will be missed by her three sons: Rob Hunter, Steven Hunter and Dustin Hunter and her daughter Jessie Hunter. Sister of Marilyn Samulenok (Bob), Diane Goheen (Rick), Sonya Jackson and Ron Wheatley. Proud grandmother of Alex Hunter, Chase Hunter, Brody Gilbertson, Alicia Hunter, Brooklyn Hunter and Nicole Hunter. Predeceased by her Mother Eileen Burt and her father Ron Wheatley. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces Lisa Goheen (Scott) Broderick, Lara Samulenok (Reg), Amanda Goheen and Megan Jackson, nephews Travis Goheen (Wing), Brice Samulenok, Blake Samulenok and Cliff Jackson. Kathryn is now reunited with her beloved Toy Maltese Tuffy.

We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Parent and the wonderful staff on Cedar One at the FJ Davey Home for providing exceptional care to our mother for the last 4 years.

A private family service has taken place. Memorial donations to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
