Obituary of Guy Baillargeon

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Guy on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at the Sault Area Hospital. 

Predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Jeannine (née Lambert). Cherished father of Gilles and Réal (deceased by a tragic accident when they were 8 and 9), Réjean (Susan), Donald (Kim), and Réjeanne MacLeod (Robert). Proud Grand-Père to Ryan (Megan), Rheal, Donny (Ashly), Jean-Guy (Andrea), Karly (Joey), Michelle (Tyler), Abigail, and Benjamin. Adored Great Grand-Père to Addison, Jackson, Alanna, Julianna, Oliver, Ryland, Axel, and Rory. 

He was raised with love by Pannarin Arthur and Marie-Ange (née Chabot) Pigeon his adoptive parents. He was the beloved son of Wilfred Baillargeon and Eloine Baillargeon (née LaPointe).

Karly said it best: ‘Last night we gained another angel. Papa Guy was the heart of our family — the one who held us all together with his love, laughter, and quiet strength. He found joy in the simple things: a walk in the woods, a day spent outdoors, a story shared over coffee. He loved nature and found peace in it — and now we find peace knowing he’s back with Grandmère.’

We will miss him deeply, but we will carry his love, his lessons, and his spirit with us forever. 

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be appreciated in Guy’s memory.
