Obituary of Josephine Zalewski

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Josephine, surrounded by the love of her family at the FJ Davey Home on Monday, October 27, 2025 at the age of 93 years. Beloved wife of the late Tadeusz (Ted), and after 2 decades apart, they are now reunited in eternal life and love. Loving mother of Michael (Wendy), Walter (Tammy), Steven (Cynthia), Henry (Ute), Christine Zielinski (Graham) (late Mervin). Cherished grandma of Lisa and Michael Zielinski (Carly), Allison (Amy), Matthew (Karissa), Eric and Lauren (Andrew). Special great grandma of Max and Sophie Zielinski. Predeceased by her parents Jan and Maria Gorski and her siblings Kazimiera Cich and Stanislaw Gorski of Poland.

It was through a personal ad that Josephine would come to find the love of her life, Tadeusz. Love blossomed across the continents, and both their lives were changed forever. She joined him in Canada, and they built a beautiful life together for 52 wonderful years. Josephine devoted her life to raising their five children – a role she embraced with endless love, patience and devotion. She taught her children the value of hard work, the joy of sharing a meal and the importance of loving deeply.

Josephine will be missed by all and fondly remembered as “Grandma Jos” waving ‘see you later’ to her children and grandchildren after visits filled with love, laughter and lasting memories. Rest peacefully, we’ll always look for you in the window to our hearts.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Holy Family Parish on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Boguslaw Jaroszek officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff at the FJ Davey Home, especially to Driftwood 1st floor for their care, kindness and compassion during her stay. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
