Obituary of Michele Genua

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Michele at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Rosa for 57 years. Treasured father of Gennaro and Gerardina. Proud Nonno of Neil-Michal (Raphaelle), Tomas and Nico. His grandchildren were his greatest joy and pride and cherished his family with unconditional love and devotion.

Michele was born in Frigento, Avellino, Italy on November 5, 1936. He was the son of the late Gennaro and the late Tommasina Genua. Much loved brother of Felicina (late Gerardo), late Teresa (late Angelo), late Antonio (late Angelina), late Giovanni (Michelina), late Lidia (late Americo), late Yolanda (late Atillio) and Rosina (Mario). Respected brother-in-law of the late Giuseppina (late Carmine), late Carmine (Maria) and Francesco (Brunadetta). Michele will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family whom he loved and respected.  

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 12:00 noon. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

A heartfelt thank you to the physicians, nurses and staff of the ICU and Urology units at the Sault Area Hospital. A special thank you to the Group Health Centre staff and PSWs for their years of service, care and support.

Michele’s unwavering, generous and loving presence in our lives was truly a gift and we will greatly miss him.
