Obituary of William Gilroy

Peacefully passed away at the Sault Area Hospital, on Thursday November 27, 2025 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of the late Linda Gilroy. Loving father of Gerry (Anita), Monique (Dan) and Jackie (Zaf). Grandfather of Chad, Holly, Natasha (Dan), Leeza, Ryan, Raymond (Tiffany), Devon, Kendrah and Kiara. Great grandmother of Colt, Alexa, Bailey and Owen. Predeceased by his parents Jean and Donald Gilroy.

At dad’s request, no formal service will be held. He was a quiet, easy-going man who enjoyed an afternoon beer or two with his friends and coworkers who knew him as “Big Bill”.  We will miss the stories of hunting, fishing, camping, getting the Argo stuck, getting the truck stuck, the “bear”, the late-night talks with the animal and don’t forget his fear of snakes.
 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) would be appreciated by the family.
 

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the palliative and emergency care team for their exceptional compassion. We also extend our thanks to Laurie Eaton and the Pathways staff, Andrew Dickson and the LIN Network, and to his entire care team for their devoted care throughout the last several years.
