Obituary of Donna Tranberg
Passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the age of 79 years. Beloved wife of Douglas, with whom she shared 58 years. Proud mother of Marsha Kirkoryan (Garo). Predeceased by her parents Ambert and Eleanor Stobie. Her brother, Robert Stobie (Carol) passed away earlier this year. She is survived by her brothers Charlie Stobie and Dennis Stobie (Wendy). Sister-in-law of Gary Tranberg (late Audrae). She will be fondly remembered by her many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Donna was proud of her family heritage. She was always quick to let people know that her great-grandfather was a prospector who discovered nickel in Sudbury in the last century. She loved gardening, cooking, baking and showing hospitality to friends and family. Her greatest passion for the past 55 years was to volunteer her time sharing with others the good news of a better world. She devoted thousands of hours and drove countless miles throughout the community in an effort to tell others that one day soon this earth will be a paradise. She wholeheartedly believed Jesus’ words that “there is going to be a resurrection of the dead” right here on Earth, where there will be no more pain, suffering or death. Right until the end, she told her family that she was just going to sleep for a little while and will wake up soon. She taught dozens of people the Bible’s message and wanted as many as possible to know about its wonderful promises. Her warm smile and good humour will be missed by all who knew her.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and all the staff at Matthew’s Memorial Hospital, the Sault Area Hospital in 3C and the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) for their support and kindness over the past month.
At Donna’s request, there will be no services. In her memory, donations to ARCH or Jehovah’s Witnesses would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
