Obituary of Margaret Stewart

Passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2026 with her family by her side. She was 89 years young.  Margaret is now reunited with her beloved husband Warren, parents James and Emma McHenry and in-laws Earl and Doris Stewart.
 

Margaret is the loving mother of Kevin, Kristin (David), and Kendall (Tammy). Proud Nana of Trinity Stewart, Jay Mannello, Nicholas Mannello (Saad), Mitchell Stewart (Emma), Reid Stewart (Kendra) and Lucas Stewart. Great Nana of Caterina and Adelina Mannello.  Predeceased by her brothers Don and Jack and sisters Anne, Janet and Patricia McHenry.  She will be dearly missed by her nieces Cindy Harrison (Tim), Tammy Foisey (Kenny) and Kelly Dafoe (Dave) and her nephew Steven Truax. 

Margaret was a lifetime member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, a long-standing member of Queens University Engineers’ Wives Club and was always a part of the respective Catholic Women’s League for the parish she attended everywhere she lived.

We are so grateful to her Maple View extended family for the past 10 years.  They cared for her as their own and treated her with dignity and respect. We would also like to thank her special caregivers Binal and Kasha. 
 

Margaret will be remembered by her friends for her patience, generosity and most of all her sense of humour. 

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6B 0B6, 705-945-7758) on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gerard Majella Church (211 Pentagon Blvd, Sault Ste. Marie) at 11:00 a.m. Spring interment in Trenton, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, please help others by making a donation to the Alzheimer Society.
