Frank Arcangeletti

Obituary of Frank Arcangeletti

(Francesco Giovanni) - It is with deep sadness, we announce that Frank passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Sault Area Hospital, surrounded by his loves. He was 77 years old. He is survived by his wife, Monica (nee Armuand), his daughters, Kelly and Tianna Bruni (Anthony). He was a proud and loving Nono to his grandchildren Julia, James, Teo and Francesca. Predeceased by his parents Giovanni (Johnny) and Bianca (Blanche) and his grandparents, Francesco (Frank) and Antoinette Arcangeletti and Bondventura and Cecilia Delfre. He was the beloved oldest brother to Karen Fata (Rico), Christine Deluco (Ronnie) and Harvey. Proud and supportive uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was a large part of the Armuand family as a brother-in-law and uncle where they shared many years of celebrations, family dinners and support. He was a loyal and good friend to many.

Frank was born in Sault Ste. Marie on July 3, 1948 and grew up in the west-end neighbourhood on Albert and Hudson Streets. He valued where he came from and would often tell stories about those days and the close sense of family and community with many friends and extended family near by.

In 1970, he graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Science, followed by a Masters in Business Administration in 1972. He worked at Algoma Steel for over 30 years.

One of Frank’s favourite spots was in the net as a goalie, playing hockey with his teammates. His brother Harvey often accompanied him, and they shared many memories together on and off the ice. Over the years Frank made many life-long friends and travelled for numerous hockey tournaments including to Europe. He found so much joy on the ice which included many years of coaching youth hockey. He was beyond honoured that both his grandsons, James and Teo, followed his passion for playing in the net. He loved watching his granddaughter, Julia, play hockey over the years and teaching his namesake, Frankie, to skate on the Oval. In his younger years, he played baseball as a pitcher and football while in high school.

He will be forever missed, always loved and never forgotten.

Deep gratitude to his wife Monica and his sister Karen, for their tireless care and devotion to him over the last couple of years. The family would like to send a special thank you to the SAH 3C staff and Dr. Apostle, Dr. Dawson and Dr. White for their compassion and support this past week, and also a thank you to the home care palliative team and Dr. Patterson.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held, but we look forward to welcoming friends and extended family to a celebration of life on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

In honour of his memory, in lieu of flowers, donations to Tracy’s Dream or the SAH Cancer Care Fund would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, Sault Ste. Marie, ON 705-945-7758).
