Obituary of John Villeneuve
At the age of 93, John made his last lap around the racetrack known as life and has crossed the finish line, leaving behind a life rich with stories, hard work, and immense love for his family.
John was the devoted husband to his beloved wife Alice for 71 years, a partnership built on deep love, loyalty, and shared laughter. Together they created a strong and enduring family foundation that will continue for generations. He was the proud father of Brian (Rhonda), Randy (Patricia), and Marty (Roma). His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
A former race car driver John worked with his hands his entire life – whether at the plant, logging in the bushes, farming out in Saskatchewan, working on his truck, or just puttering at home in his shed and garden. Even at 93 John believed it was his duty to keep the grass cut and things in good order.
John was a passionate hockey fan, especially devoted to the Montreal Canadiens, and could often be found watching a game or recounting the latest scores with his sons. Many good friends and family will remember sitting with him at the kitchen table or around the fire at Pancake Bay, listening as he shared stories of the good old days – tales filled with humour, heart, and a lifetime of experience.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice is greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
