Obituary of Greta Deevey

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Greta at the Sault Area Hospital on Monday, February 2, 2026.

Predeased by her loving husband Floyd Deevey. Left to mourn her passing are her children Rick, Tracey Rosso (David) and Karen Young (Scott). Greta’s pride and joy were her grandchildren Cheyenne Dechamplain (Riley), Kieran Rosso, Hannah Young (Trevor) and Connor Rosso (Abby). She was also great grandmother to Calvin and Vera Pindur and soon to be unveiled great grandbaby girl. Daughter of the late Walter and the late Dorthea Christensen. Sister of Ann Liedke (late Max) and predeceased by sisters Thelma Hubert (late Stan) and Ruth Krmpotic (late Joe). Sister-in-law of Winnifred Stabenow (late Harry) and Phyllis Deevey and predeceased by Alecta and Albert Roussell, Edward Deevey, Phillip Deevey and Cathleen Holmes (Charles). She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Greta touched the lives of many during her 36-year career as a labour and delivery nurse at the General Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Sault Search and Rescue would be greatly appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758).
