Gordon Yeaman

Obituary of Gordon Yeaman

We are all deeply heartbroken by the unexpected passing of our amazing dad, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. In everything he did, he did selflessly with love and compassion. He was always the one that celebrated small things as enthusiastically as he did the big ones.

He was profoundly loved and will be missed by his children. He was so very proud and always insanely excited to tell you all of their successes. Uplifting your spirits when it was needed. He cherished all his moments with Billie Anne, Brianne, Jessilyn (Steve), Kolt, Lydia, Chloe and baby angel Katelyn. His face would light up when talking about them. So very proud.
The beaming Grandpa of Aria and Princeton-Reign that will carry his best qualities with them forever. He took immense joy in gathering his family to eat his super homemade meals consisting of his famous burgers and shepherd's pie. Family time wasn't just at the table....gathering around the tv watching hockey was a ritual.

Son of the late Alfred and Carol Yeaman, who adored him and all of his accomplishments, his kind soul and giving them the greatest of gifts, their grandchildren. He was the gentle and caring brother to Kevin(Deborah) and Lana Yeaman. He was always the one to do the goofiest things to entertain us, everything was also a friendly competition. The best memories were made with many friends and family at camp in Jones' Landing of Batchewana Bay, along with family trips all over North America. He was the grandson of the late Martha and Kirk Yeaman, Annie and Ted Harpe. They could depend on him to help with jobs around the house, walks on the camp road or a quiet conversation. Gord was the ever caring and always interested uncle to Max and Remy De Lorenzi. He was cherished and loved by his extended family Cathy, Rory and Raquel Derasp and the Chikoski's. Forever the warm hearted, gentle man that was genuinely loved by his aunts and uncles, Michael and Terry Harpe, the late Brenda, Art Denning, Kenneth, Louise Harpe and godson to Diane (late Glennie) Marshall. Gordie will be in the loving thoughts of his cousins Stephanie Elwgren and Christopher Elwgren, and many friends that he bonded with over his time playing hockey, Sea Cadets, serving for the Canadian Navy, along with his love of music (drums + piano) and showing off his waterskiing skills to everyone on the Bay.

His gentle soul brought him some exceptional and life long friends, Jennifer Morden and Ryan Catling. They supported each other with no expectations. Gordon continued to have strong friendships and coparented devotedly with Nikki, Sheila, Debbie and the late Donna.

For those of you that were lucky to have him paint your home or businesses he did it with utmost precision and was not shy to show you each and every straight edge, a sheer perfectionist.

For all of us we will have him in our hearts and when feeling down, with one quick memory of him it will put a smile on our faces and many giggles. For those that cared for him, do what he did best, have a little dance in his honour.

An intimate celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers a trust fund has been set up for Gordon’s children. Please make cheques payable to “Sheila O’Brien - In Trust” or a memorial donation to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-416-9936).
