Obituary of Robert Cristillo
Peacefully passed away at the Sault Area Hospital with his loving wife, sons, family and close friends by his side on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at the age of 42. Beloved husband and soulmate of Christina for 20 beautiful years. He was a proud and devoted father to Patrick and Anthony. He was the loving son of Michael and Gayle Cristillo. Loyal brother of Suzanne Shoust (Chris). Son-in-law of Dominic and Rita Richichi. Brother-in-law of John Richichi (Joanna). Zio of Lorenzo and Amelia Richichi. Robert will be sadly missed by his many uncles, aunts and cousins. He shared a lifelong friendship with his chosen “brother” Matt Casola. Rob will also be missed by his many cherished friends.
Rob was a devoted husband, proud father, cherished son and brother, and a loyal friend whose greatest joy in life was time spent with his family. An outdoorsman at heart, he found peace and happiness in nature — especially on the water, fishing with Christina and their boys. Those early mornings, quiet lakes, and shared stories will remain treasured memories for us forever.
Rob generously gave his time helping to coach the boy’s hockey and baseball teams. He believed in teamwork, sportsmanship, and encouraging young athletes to do their best both on and off the ice and field. His love of the game never faded, and he was especially proud to be part of his Union Hockey team, “The Washouts,” where the camaraderie and laughter meant just as much as the competition.
Rob also valued his career and the many friendships he built over the years. He spoke often of his work family at SIS, appreciating the support, teamwork, and bonds that extended far beyond the workplace.
