Obituary of Janet Palasz

We have many happy memories and much love to hold onto as we announce the passing of Janet at the age of 76 on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

Loving wife and best friend of Bill for 55 years. Mother of Carla MacEwan (Christopher) and grandmother of Owen Craig. Sister-in-law of Genevieve Allan (Hugh) and Anne Burrows. Lifetime friend of Lillian McDougall. Survived by her sister Shirley and brothers Victor and Leslie.

During her life, Janet worked many jobs: Muio’s Restaurant, Adanac Bus Terminal, General Hospital on Queen Street, Algoma University, the Separate School Board office and nine of their schools. She was the primary caregiver to her mother for 30 years.

A private burial has taken place. Memorial donations to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) or the charity of your choice are greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
