Achille Perri

Obituary of Achille Saverio Perri

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Achille, surrounded by the love of his family at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

Beloved husband of late Stella (Nella) Salamone.  Proud and loving father of Christopher (Teresa) and Daniel.  Proud and devoted Nonno of Mateo, Milana, Christopher, and Paris.

Achille was born on July 8, 1942 in Decollatura Catanzaro Calabria Italy and is the son of late Carmine Perri and late Antonietta Perri (Tomaino). Beloved brother of late Joseph (Enrica)(Jim Gallo), late Silvio (Sandra), Theresa, and Eddie (Mary). Brother-in-law of the late William (John) Smith (Rosetta), late Joseph Delbasso (Gilda), Tony Salamone (Charlotte). He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

Nonno loved life and was happy with what he had.  He was a kind soul, and was so optimistic, even when things didn’t go his way.

Nonno made many special friends throughout the years. He spent his mornings at the YMCA with his “Y guys” and enjoyed his coffee group at the mall. He was an active person and played in the Marconi bocci league and enjoyed a great game of golf.

His family, especially his grandchildren, were his pride and joy.  He never missed a birthday, a sports game, or a single accomplishment of ours. He was always there, always proud, and always supporting us. We were so lucky to have him as our Nonno, and we will continue to make him proud.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Monday, March 30, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service in the chapel at 12:00 noon. Memorial donations to the YMCA Sault Ste. Marie, THRIVE Foundation, SAH Cancer Care Fund or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

A heartfelt thank you to the Sault Area Hospital Palliative Care team, the SAH Cancer Care Clinic as well as the doctors, nurses and staff on 3B for their care and compassion shown to Achille and our family.

Ciao Nonno! We love you.
