Obituary of Dorothy McQueen
We have many happy memories and much love to hold onto as we announce the passing of Dorothy. She would have been 102 years old on May 29, 2026.
Dorothy was married to the late Kenneth McQueen. Dorothy was Mom to the late Joyce Hocken (John, Ron McQueen, Len McQueen (Brenda), Donna Wilhelm (Arthur), late Verna Dowding and Scott McQueen (Tammy). Gramma of Steve McQueen, Rhonda Piffero and Mark McQueen. Gram of Jeff Hocken (Ashley), Jason Hocken (Anna), late Christian McQueen, Brad McQueen (Katie), Pam Kelly, Trevor Wilhelm (Jules), Jeremy Wilhelm (Nicole), Michael Dowding (Dani), Katherine Dowding (Kevin), Jessica Telfer (Corrie) and Casey McQueen (Kylie). Dorothy was known as Gramma Dot to her great grandchildren Lily, Javier, Izabella, Eveline, Haley, Carley, Kolby, Hailey, Matthew, Evan, Brianna, Ty, Reid, Ellen, Chloe, Hendrick, Landon and Sebastian. Daughter of the late Zella and the late Leonard Marshall. Sister of the late Floyd Marshall (Elva), late Paul Marshall (late Jackie), late Don Marshall (late Erma), late Betty Demour (late Ron) and the late Audrey Siegman. Dorothy is survived by her brother Ken Marshall (Jean). Daughter-in-law of the late John and the late Della McQueen. She will be fondly remembered as Aunt Dot to her several nieces and nephews on both sides of the Marshall and McQueen families.
A life that touches others goes on forever. Mom was a beautiful quilter. Sons, daughters, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends were all recipients of her quilts. A forever memory.
Friends and family are invited to visit at East Korah Maxwell United Church on Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Helen Smith officiating. Memorial donations to the East Korah Maxwell United Church or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
