Obituary of Giuseppina Carella
The family of Giuseppina is deeply saddened to share her passing, surrounded by family at the Sault Area Hospital on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at the age of 96. Born on July 20, 1929 to the late Carmine and the late Miranda Raponi in Carpineto, Lazio, Italy. Beloved wife of the late Ruggero (Reg). Beloved and cherished mother of Orlando (Rica), Fred and Eric. Nonna of Mia (Richard Avery), Meagan (Topher) and Cole (Emily). Bisnonna of Henry Laine Avery. Lovingly and fondly remembered by Julie Carella. She will be dearly missed by her god daughter, Stacy Blais Duchin with whom she spent many enjoyable hours visiting and gathering vegetables and strawberries from her garden. She will be affectionately remembered and missed by her longtime friend Judy Fragomeni of Sudbury, with whom she shared years of laughter and many telephone conversations. She was the favoured aunt to her many nieces and nephews who affectionately referred to her as Zia P or ZaP. She will be remembered for her beautiful garden and as a wonderful cook, baker, knitter and homemaker. Her greatest joy and love were her grandchildren; she was so proud of them and their achievements. She will be deeply missed and remembered with love. Giuseppina was blessed with wonderful long time and caring neighbours Richard Blais (late Marilyn) and Tony and Vera Berlingieri. She is survived by her twin sister Silvana (late Orlando) and brother Pietro (late Crocefisa) of Carpineto. She is predeceased by her siblings Pasquale, Bernilda, Luigina (late Cesare), Guido (late Gralice) and Rafaela (late Gaetano) of Carpineto.
A small private family service has taken place. Memorial donations to the SAH Foundation would be greatly appreciated in Giuseppina’s memory.
