Obituary of Silvio Monaco

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Silvio on Sunday, April 5, 2026. Loving husband and best friend of Christine for 48 years. Father of Adelina (Matt) and Tina (Albert). Proud papa of Jayden.

Silvio was a loving family man and loyal friend, always there for those he cared about. He will be greatly missed by his sister, Tonina. Forever remembered with love by his sisters-and brother-in-law, all his nieces, nephews, family and friends. We find comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his beloved mom, Michelina, his father Agostino, brother Peter, sister Lina along with many other cherished family members who predeceased him.

Silvio will be remembered for many things. He had a way of making the ordinary feel meaningful. He didn’t need much to be content – sitting outside, enjoying his afternoon coffee, and the company of the people he loved.

Despite facing many health challenges over the years, Silvio remained strong, stubborn and fighting bravely for as long as he could. Over the years, he was fortunate to share a special bond with his personal support workers Sherri, Amanda and Nancy whose care, compassion and companionship meant so much to him and his family. A special thank you to both Nurses Jennifer whose kindness and dedication brought great comfort.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow in the Northwood Lounge. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the SAH Foundation or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
