Ally D'Ettorre

Obituary of Ally D'Ettorre

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ally, who left us far too soon on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the age of 37.

Born on July 21, 1988, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ally spent time living in Thunder Bay and Victoria BC, before returning home to the Sault, where she settled with her family.

Ally was the loving Mom of Ryder Trahan and Jamison Tornabuono, who remain her lasting legacy. She was the beloved partner of Tyler Tornabuono. Ally was the beloved daughter of Alex D’Ettorre and the late Bonnie Baglien, and cherished step-daughter of Marcy D’Ettorre. She was a loving sister to Karri D’Ettorre and Lacy Kuoppa-Aho (Kyle). She was the proud aunt of Courtney, Violet, Abella, and Grant. She will also be lovingly remembered by Tyler’s parents, Dave and Susan Tornabuono, his sister Shawna James (Warren) and their son Austin.

Ally was also a step-sister to Spencer Clayton (Bobbi) and Tyler Clayton (Avery), and a cherished niece to Margie Colautti, Shelley Pezzutto (John), Tracy Piraino, the late Janice Charron (Merrill) and Tim Piraino. She was the granddaughter of the late Alexander and Teresa D’Ettorre.

On her mother’s side, Ally was the granddaughter of the late Violet and Ronald Baglien, and the niece of Rohnda Gibson (Scott), Lee Aiello (Albert), David Boer (late Carolynn), Ronnie Baglien, Charlotte Hubbard, and Danielle Schulz (Andrew).

She will be remembered by her many cousins on both sides of the family, including Trey, Jesse (Duyen), Jade (Janian), Sean (Wendy), Jeff (Jana), Justin, Jennifer (Darren), Nadia (Jeremy), as well as Roger Hubbard (Roxana), Valerie Woods, Richard Hubbard, Kathryn Maggrah (Gerry), David Boer (Ivy), Jennifer Oxley (Andrew), Vincent Baglien, Ryan Baglien, Johnathon Schulz and many others.

Over the past 31 days, our family experienced a journey we never could have imagined. We held onto hope, love, and each other every step of the way. Though the outcome was not what we prayed for, we find comfort in knowing she was never alone.

We would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to the incredible team at Sault Area Hospital, particularly the staff of 3C and 3A. To the compassionate doctors—Dr. Bowen, Dr. Mandur, Dr. Booth, Dr. Tripathy, Dr. Ahmed, and Dr. Gu—and to every nurse who cared for Ally with such dedication and kindness, we thank you.

We are also deeply grateful to the many people who supported us along the way: the Tim Hortons staff, especially Eileen and the girls; Darcy and the cafeteria staff; VON volunteer Ren; Maggie, our social worker; Erin, our addictions worker; and the many beautiful people we met throughout this journey. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.

A special thank you to Ryder’s hockey family, his friends, and all those who stepped in to help during this incredibly difficult time—especially Alisha and Lisa. Your support has meant more than words can express.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Monday, May 4, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in trust for the education of Ryder and Jamison.

Ally will be remembered for the life she lived, the people she touched, and the family she leaves behind. Though her path was not an easy one, she was deeply loved and will be forever missed.

“A daughter may outgrow your arms, but she never outgrows your heart.”
