Elsie was happily unmarried, and fiercely independent. Her independence and determination brought her to Toronto, where she had a long career with Air Canada. She was able to travel the world and had many adventures, many with her good friend Carolyn Scott (Norbert).

A private celebration has taken place. Memorial donations to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society, where Elsie had adopted Grayling from, would be greatly appreciated. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Extendicare Maple View – Tunnel Lake for the care and compassion given to Elsie during her stay. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
