It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Albert, surrounded by loved ones at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the age of 91, just nine days short of his 92nd birthday. Devoted husband of Edith “Edie” (nee Bernard) for 35 years. He was the much-loved father of the late Roy (Sharon), late Barbara, Laura and Donna Cameron (Doug). Albert was the stepfather of Sean McEwen (Michelle), the late Ellen McEwen and the late Joseph Liut. He was also blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. Son of the late Donat LeBlanc and the late Jeannette Collins (nee Tremblay). Brother of the late Andrew, Cecilia, Ronald and Juliette. Brother-in-law of Donna MacIntyre (Robert).

Albert was born in Sault Ste. Marie and moved to High Falls/Michipicoten area with his parents when he was young. He returned to Sault Ste. Marie with his parents and eventually worked at Algoma Steel for 37 years. After his retirement he proudly spent several years as a janitor at his church. He enjoyed doing woodworking, building, hunting, fishing and watching the Blue Jays on TV. His greatest joy of these, was fishing – usually with his buddy Bernie Heintzman.

The family extends their deep gratitude to the Paramedics, Dr. Jarrett, Dr. Buehner, SAH 3B and the compassionate nursing staff and volunteers at ARCH for their kindness, dedication and care during Albert’s final journey. Your support was appreciated beyond words.
