Obituary of Rino Sartini

We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Rino on Monday, April 6, 2026 at the age of 90. He leaves behind his wife Thongkham, his children Rosa Massolin (Mario), Robert Sartini (Dawn), Roger Sartini, Cindy McCauley (Dave), Brenda Pierman (Pat), Diane Brown (James) and Candace Vichith. Grandfather of Steven, Adam, Robert, Ava, Karen, late Shasta, Lindsay (Joe), Jenna, Kenny, Austin, Jimmy, Grace, Hillary, Lauren, Kayleb, Naima, Sofias, Julia and Amelia and great grandfather of Drew, Summer, Ethan, Grace and Miles. Dear brother of Elia Giallonardo, Lucy Fuselli and Bruno Sartini. Predeceased by his parents Giuseppina and Giuseppe Sartini. 

Rino was a man of many talents and just as much confidence. He could fix or build anything. He once successfully built a wooden boat in his garage. He built his own home, of which he was very proud. In his youth he operated a chuck wagon at the beach, he worked for his aunt in her west end market and later became a bartender at the same time as working at Algoma Steel. He was an owner and operator of an auto body shop and then a restaurant. He liked to keep busy and always had something he wanted to fix. Eventually, he finally retired for good to enjoy his home and garden. 

As per Rino's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral services held. Memorial donations made in his memory to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
