Obituary of Diane Siegwart
After a very long battle with cancer, Diane Siegwart (nee Miller) passed away peacefully in her sleep at home, on April 23, 2026, at the age of 65.
Family was important to Diane, and she will be dearly missed by many. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 48 years, Don. The loving mother to Sarah and Don (Gillian). Special Nana to Isaac and Micah, who would instantly bring a smile to her face. Nana enjoyed her cuddles from the boys, and all the amazing time spent together. She often said chats from grandsons are good for the soul. Isaac and Micah, always remember that Nana loves you most! Diane was an amazing dog mom to Molly and Maxi. Predeceased by her mother, Valma Wootton. Survived by her brother Herb Miller (Judy). Predeceased by her siblings Cris Schryer (Randy), Raymond Beland and Chuck Miller. Sister-in-law to Bob Siegwart (Carol), Ruthanne Siegwart Larue (John), Liz Siegwart (the late Tony), Eric Siegwart (Cathy), Marilyn Siegwart (Steve), Pat Siegwart (Clorie) and Dave Siegwart (Rachel). Remembered by her many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Diane will be remembered by many for her constant and unwavering love for her family. She was deeply devoted to everyone who was close to her, and she often put others above herself. Don and Diane shared a love like no other. He was her Boob, and she was his Boobie. They spent 50 loving years together, which can be described as the best years of Don’s life. They enjoyed quality time together, with their beloved children and extended family. Diane’s passing leaves a void that will never be filled. Many describe Diane as sweet, kindhearted and loving and the best pierogi maker of all time.
For the past 22 years, Diane fought a very courageous battle with breast cancer. She was always a fighter and maintained strength, resilience and a positive outlook throughout that time. A special thank you to Dr. Spadafora and team at the Algoma District Cancer Program.
In keeping with Diane’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Tracy’s Dream would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd. 705-945-7758).
When tomorrow starts without me
Please try to understand
That an angel came and called my name
And took me by the hand.
When tomorrow starts without me
Don’t think we’re far apart
For every time you think of me
I’m right here in your heart.
David M. Romano.
One day Jesus is going to hug you so tight that all of your broken pieces will fit back together. Diane would wish that you hug your loved ones, and tell them you love them, as tomorrow is not guaranteed.
