Michael Dinelle

Obituary of Michael Dinelle

It is with heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Mike with family by his side at the Sault Area Hospital on Monday, April 27, 2026 in his 84th year. Loving husband of the late Verna Dinelle (nee Irwin). Treasured son of the late Laurier “Loggy” Dinelle and the late Jean Mick (nee McPhee) (Ray Mick). Prized father of Scott (Denise), Marty (Alana), Monty (Theresa), Michelle (Paul). Proudest Papa of Jordan, Joshua, Cody (Jessie), Nicole (Matt), Ryan (Kayla), Cole, Chase (Chase), Berkley (Jaze) and Brya. Great grand Papa to Khai, Ava and Blair. Cherished big brother to Pat (Maxine), late Keith, the late Linda (Bob), Bonnie (John), Gail (Bill), Tim (Yvonne) and the late Joseph. Beloved uncle, great uncle and cousin to many.

Mike was the epitome of a proud, distinguished gentleman and nothing meant more to him than family. He was a loyal friend to so many and touched countless lives with his generosity and thoughtfulness. His life long best friend Merrill, his Monday night card guys, Lorraine and his classic car buddies.

He took great pride in his dapper appearance and was seldom seen without his shirt and tie or a hair out of place. His love for classic cars and his prized 65 Thunderbird polished and shined proudly at all the car shows and cruise nights. He is now reunited in heaven with Verna cruising off into the sunset with a maple donut and coffee in hand with Dean Martin playing on the radio.

Per Mike’s wishes a cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at the Echo Bay Elks Lodge (96 Church St, Echo Bay) from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the CNIB would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
