Obituary of Bert Christian Erb

With broken hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Bert on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at the age of 47.  Loving husband and best friend of Terri-Ann for almost 25 years. Proud father of Maddison – his love and admiration for Maddison were unmistakable. Son of Margaret and the late Bert Charles Erb. Brother of Jeremy and Celina Erb (Stephen). Son-in-law of Terry Devine (Heidi) and Rhonda Taillefer (Rick). Brother-in-law of Margaret Cook (Jeff), Jason Cleminson (Jessica), Bryan Cleminson (Lindsay), Kevin Cleminson (late Tara), Ian Taillefer (Jenn) and Cory Taillefer (Nathalie). Bert will be fondly remembered by his many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

One of Bert’s greatest joys in life was watching Maddison fulfill her passion of swimming. Bert had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed four-wheeling, camping and spending time in nature, especially surrounded by family. His dog Onyx was his latest companion and a special project that brought him a lot of joy.

Bert was a dedicated crane operator at Steel Speed Crane for over 25 years. He was known for not only his strong work ethic, but also his lively spirit. Bert was always fun to be around, quick with a smart comeback or a joke, and brought laughter wherever he went. He truly was the life of the party!

Friends and family are invited to a Funeral Service in the Chapel at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Helen Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society or the charity of your choice is greatly appreciated by the family.
