Agnes grew up in Steelton on Beverly St. in a loving home and attended high school at the old ‘Tech’. Agnes then worked in the office for Algoma Steel where she made many friends. It was during this time, that she purchased a waterfront property north of the city which would eventually become the beloved family ‘camp’. The camp proved to be a truly special place, filled with incredible memories that family members still cherish and love to share to this day. After the birth of her first child, she decided to stay home to immerse herself into raising a family. Agnes was very loving, proud and protective of all of her family. She was a happy person and absolutely loved family get-togethers, playing cards, bocce, bowling and having sing-alongs. Music was central to her life. She nearly always had it playing in the background and loved to sing, whether at home in the kitchen, as part of the St. Jerome’s church choir, or to her favourite song on the radio. That love of music deepened over time, motivating her to learn to play an instrument later in life as part of the Croatian Tamburitza group. She will also be remembered for some of her delicious creations that cannot be equaled such as, cabbage rolls, meatballs, pizza, apple pies, apple cake, cherry cheesecake and tie plates, just to name a few. Agnes’s love and values permeated throughout the family, positively influencing all around her. She will be dearly missed.
