Obituary of Timo Rajala
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Timo, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Timo was a devoted husband to Maxine and a loving father to Matthew (Erin) and Meghan (Logan). He was a proud Poppa to Ethan, Austin, Oliver, and Evie, who brought immense joy to his life. Predeceased by his parents, Ritva and Paul Rajala, and his in-laws, Lily and Lloyd Marshall. He will be dearly missed by his brother Mike. Beloved brother-in-law of Diane Howes (Ronnie) and Gary Marshall (Jan).
Timo will be remembered for his love of family and friends, his sense of humour, and his strength. Throughout his illness, he showed remarkable strength and courage. Despite facing significant health challenges, he never complained and instead focused on the people he loved most.
Timo had a love for the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed curling, hunting, and fishing, and some of his happiest moments were spent at the family camp on Ranger Lake. He loved being around people and never missed an opportunity to socialize, share a story, or enjoy a good laugh.
Though his passing leaves a tremendous void, his love, guidance, and the many memories he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
The family would like to thank the staff at Maple View - McCarrel Lake, the many staff at Sault Area Hospital who provided care, and Ontario Health at Home & home care staff. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Timo’s dear friends for their support and companionship over the years. Your presence in his life meant so much to him, and your kindness during this time is deeply appreciated.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Christ Church Korah would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
