It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Jennie, on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Loving mother of Jim (late Claudia), Vickie Pavoni (John), Tony (Susan), Connie Uren (Eric), Sam Jr. (late Denise), Gloria Denneny (Bill), Linda Thorburn (Mark), Vincent (Tina), Maria Rocca (Emilio), Theresa Carriere (Bill), Joe (Silvana), Nancy Iacoe (Sergio) and Terry. Much loved Nona to 42 grandchildren and Big Nona to 60 great grandchildren. Daughter of the late Alfonso and the late Concetta Petrocco. Sister of the late Gino Petrocco (late Lil), late Nancy Chiverelli (late Joe) and the late Tony Petrocco (Gayle). Daughter-in-law of the late Giacomo and the late Concetta Colizza. Sister-in-law of the late Vince (late Val), late Vicki (late Phil), late Linda (late Carmen), late Mario (late Mary) and the late Gloria. “Auntie Jennie” to her many nieces and nephews. “Comare Jennie” to her extended family, the Celetti’s. And a dear friend to many, including the Thursday Afternoon ladies whom she looked forward to seeing each week.
Jennie was born on October 10, 1927 and grew up in Sault Ste. Marie, where she met the love of her life, Sam. Together they built a beautiful family and Jennie became the devoted mother of 13 children. She dedicated her life to caring for her family, always putting their needs before her own. Her love, strength and devotion will be remembered.
Her home at 421 Albert St. West was always open and anyone who walked through the doors was welcomed with a hearty meal and genuine hospitality. Jennie was a strong woman whose unwavering faith guided her throughout her life. We find comfort in knowing she has found her eternal home in Heaven, in the arms of her love, Sam – enjoying a long-awaited dance.
