Obituary of Steven Andrew Lippe
It is with broken hearts, we announce the passing of our one and only Steven Andrew Lippe, who passed away peacefully after a very short battle with cancer at the age of 64.
He leaves behind the love of his life and devoted wife of 43 years, Laurie "Bunny" Lippe. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Steve was a proud and loving father to his daughters, Stefanie "Squatchie" (Brandon) and Emily "Squirrel" (Frank), who were the centre of his world.
His greatest joy in life was being Papa to Ronnie (Liv), Cruz, Jayleigh, and Maisie, and Great-Papa to Ace and Aria. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, creating memories they will treasure forever. He will also be deeply missed by his loyal furry companions, Lexxi, Tooties and Elvis.
Steve is predeceased by his loving parents, Alexander and Geraldine Lippe. He will be greatly missed by his sister Katriona, brothers Robert, Sandy and his predeceased by Alice, Sheila, Ian and Margaret. Beloved son-in-law to Emma Palumbo "Ma" (late Mario). Fun, adventurous travelling partner to brother-in-law Frank Palumbo (Irene) and wild Uncle Steve to Mario (Gina), Lisa (Alonso), his undeniable youthful personality is one that we could never replace.
Steve dedicated more than 35 years of his career as a Stationary Engineer. He was also well known throughout the community for working security at the Greyhound Games and many local events. Affectionately known as the "Candyman," Steve brought smiles wherever he went by handing out candy (Werther's) and bubblegum (Double Bubble). His infectious sense of humor, kind heart, and fun-loving personality made a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Steve found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He loved swimming (doing the infamous dolphin), fishing with the boys, spending time on the boat (speedo and bandana on at all times), and, above all, making lasting memories with his family (putting on epic firework shows). He never missed an opportunity to play his harmonica and entertain family and friends at any social gathering. His music, laughter, and wild spirit brought people together & laugh non-stop.
Steve was the most supportive husband, father, papa, brother, uncle & friend anyone could ask for. Whether someone needed a helping hand moving furniture, attending any grandchild event at school or getting everyone to play a foosball game after dinner, Steve was an energy no one could deny.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire medical team at the Sault Area Hospital, Bayshore HealthCare and Union Cab (Leslie and Noah) for the exceptional compassion, care, and support they provided throughout Steve's journey.
Steve's legacy of kindness, generosity, laughter, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Though he will be deeply missed, the countless memories he created with family and friends will be cherished forever.
A private family service has taken place with interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
May your wild spirit live on forever Dad. We will keep our eyes open for any toothpicks you leave around for us.
