Obituary of Diane Fitzsimmons

With heartfelt sadness, the family of Diane announces her passing on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at the age of 75. Beloved wife of Roger. Cherished mother of Scott Fitzsimmons (Amie). Proud nana of Collin Fitzsimmons. Predeceased by her parents Gilbert and Leni Holmes. Sister of Tony Holmes (Jan) and Bob Holmes (Gisela). Sister-in-law of Helen Howe (late John), Steve Fitzsimmons (Sue) and the late Keith Fitzsimmons. Loved aunt of Matthew Holmes (Jen), Erica Harris, Kellie Refausse (Dan), Kathie Lafleur (Marc), Kim Hall (Jason), late Jessica Holmes, Dustin Holmes (Victoria), Ryan Holmes (Sarah), Zack Fitzsimmons and Kyle Fitzsimmons (Lily). Great aunt of many. She will be fondly remembered by her extended family and friends.

Diane found joy in the simple things that made life special. She enjoyed knitting, creating beautiful pieces through diamond art, spending time camping, and most of all, being surrounded by her family. She treasured Collin’s sleepovers and the time she spent visiting family and friends. Diane was known for keeping everything—including receipts dating all the way back to 1968—and she could make a dynamite apple crisp that was always enjoyed by those fortunate enough to share it with her. Her creativity and love of family will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
