Thousand Dollar Giveaway
Tessier Rose, the winner of our Thousand Dollar Giveaway that was held in December, chose St. Vincent Place as the recipient charity. On January 16, 2018, we had the pleasure of presenting St. Vincent Place with a cheque for $500.00.
Once again, congratulations to Tessier and thank you for helping us pay it forward.
On January 11, 2018, Northwood and The Algoma Autism Foundation presented a cheque to The Soup Kitchen for $806.00.
The proceeds were raised from The Algoma Autism - Breakfast with Santa and matched by Northwood.
It is wonderful to see organizations helping each other and we are happy to support them both.

Our Northwood team had a great time hosting and participating in the 2017, Algoma Autism Foundations, Trunk or Treat. This is our second year hosting Trunk or Treat, it is our pleasure to provide a fun and safe environment for the kids.

Remembrance Day November 11, 2017
We were honoured to have these boots, here at Northwood for the community to visit.
This pair of combat boots is one pair, of two thousand pairs, that were laid by Canadian students at the Canadian National Vimy Ridge Memorial on April 9, 2017. They symbolize the Canadian soldiers who died during the Battle of Vimy Ridge April 1917. This pair of combat boots was on loan for a two week period from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Canadian Cancer Society - Relay for Life 2017 June 16, 2017
Northwood staff had a great time at Relay For Life on Friday, we look forward to this event each year. We had the pleasure of spending our evening with some amazing individuals in the survivors tent.
This year we not only had the opportunity to volunteer and help run the survivors area but we also provided all the food, with the exception of the delicious cake, donated by Romes.

Thank you to Bea from the Alzheimer Society, she stopped by to present us with a certificate of appreciation.
On May 25, 2017, Northwood was a Diamond Sponsor of the Alzheimer’s Society’s Ladies Night Out. The Northwood ladies enjoyed a great night out while the Northwoodgentlemen collected donations. Northwood matched all donations made that evening, presenting the Alzheimer Society with a cheque for $1,133.00.

This afternoon one of our licensed funeral directors, Terra Hill, spent some time volunteering at the Easter Seals Telethon. We were happy to present this great organization with a cheque for $500.00.
Algoma Autism Foundations Annual Dinner March 25, 2017
We were pleased to attended a fundraiser dinner for the Algoma Autism Foundation on March 25th. We were able to donate 2 iPad minis. One iPad was raffled off. The winner had the opportunity to choose a local school to donate the second iPad!

PAIL - Pregnancy and Infant Loss Seminar. September 28, 2016
On September 28th, we hosted a seminar in our Reception Centre for PAIL. The seminar provided local professionals the opportunity to learn how to better care for people who have suffered the loss of an infant. Thank you to all who attended the seminar.

Canadian Diabetes Association Farm to Table with Christine Cushing Cooking with Emily Richards.
On September 29, 2016 and May 9th, 2016 , we spent the evening with the Canadian Diabetes Association (local chapter). We had a great time assisting in 50/50 ticket sales, registration, selling cookbooks and escorting guests to tables. Emily and Christine were very personable and inviting, and the food was fantastic. Thank you both for travelling to the Sault for these great events.
Canadian Cancer Society - Relay for Life 2016 June 17, 2016
Northwood staff volunteered at Relay for life in the "Survivors Tent". Food trays were supplied by Northwood and staff enjoyed cutting and serving the cake to survivors and their families. We assisted the survivors with entering draws and signing a jumbo thank you card, that was presented to the SAH Cancer Care Unit staff.

Northwood was a Diamond Sponsor, purchased tickets for 2 tables, provided live instrumental music by Eugene Gassi, as well our gentlemen staff provided coverage at the donation table so the ladies on staff could attend the event. Northwood matched every donation made that evening and presented the Alzheimer Society with a cheque of $1752.00 dollars at the end of the night.
