Alfredo Caputo

Obituary of Alfredo Caputo

It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Alfredo, with his loving wife by his side, on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at the age of 88. Devoted husband of Maria for 62 years.  Loving father of Lina Belsito (John), John (Nancy) and Dan (Heather). He was the adoring and proud grandfather to his six granddaughters, Meagan, Vanessa, Alissa, Chelsea, Sadie and Nora. Predeceased by his parents Fortunata and Rosario Caputo. Brother of the late Antonia Bernardo (late Salvatore), late Guerino (late Ermelinda, late Rosina), late Paolina (late Ernesto) and Ernesto (Maria). Son-in-law of the late Bruno and the late Teresa Coccimiglio. Brother-in-law of the late Guiseppe Coccimiglio (Rosa), late Orlando Coccimiglio (Rosaria), late Gaetano Coccimiglio (Anna), Massimo Coccimiglio (Anna Maria), Francesa DeGregorio (late Tino), Elena Mannarino (late Rocco) and Linda Mannarino (Settimio). He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Alfredo was an avid gardener who found great happiness amidst the beauty of his vegetable garden. He loved working outside and was so proud when his garden thrived. Above all, his family was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He lit up with joy every time he spoke of his granddaughters and never failed to make them feel special. Dad loved spending time with his granddaughters whether it was getting on his hands and knees and playing with them as toddlers or later on, teaching them to play card games as they grew into adults. He always enjoyed travelling to Sudbury, Ottawa and Oakville to make sure he spent as much quality time with his family as possible.

While he may no longer be with us, his love and dedication to his family remain alive in our hearts, much like the gardens he nurtured so lovingly. He will be greatly missed but forever cherished.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel at 1:00 p.m. with Father Michael Omojola officiating.
