Obituary of Marvin Herbert

HERBERT, MARVIN ( April 24, 1935 - December 27, 2010) - It is with deepest sorrow and heavy hearts that we regret to announce the passing of Marvin, peacefully at "ARCH" with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Winifred. Most cherished father of Cindy Slewidge (Lyndon)and Tana Printess (Mark). Proudest Papa of Greg, Jennifer and Heather Slewidge and Brandon (Jenn) and Chelsey Printess. Special companion of Jake & Texas. Son of the late George and Florence Herbert. Dearest brother of Laura Kettle, late Tom, the late Lenore and the late Edith (J.D. Jones). Son-in-law of the late Harry and Rose Wsiaki. Brother-in-law of Hilda Rowlinson (late Lloyd), Jackie MacDonald (late Francis), Evelyn Coull, John Steinke (Gail), the late Gilbert and Violet Steinke, the late Russel Steinke and the late Ruby and Jim Rowlinson. Marvin will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral and Committal Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday December 30, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. Memorial donations made to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (A.R.C.H.) would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to all those who took part in Marvin's care; Dr. S. Spadafora and the staff at the Cancer Clinic, Dr. Hirvi, Dr. Fera, S.A.H. 2A Nurses, Bayshore Homehealth - especially Jenna and Bernie, WeCare - especially Kristi and especially Dr. Sharon Buehner for getting us to A.R.C.H. Last but not least thank-you to all the nurses and staff for the exceptional care of Marvin and his family while we were at A.R.C.H. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
