Obituary of James Fletcher

FLETCHER, James Frederick "Sonny" "Jim" - Peacefully at the Finnish Rest Home on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the age of 87 years. Son of the late Dinah Sheshequin and Gilbert Fletcher. Brother of John (Hazel), Stanley (Mavor), Fran Luther, Shirley Horn, Jackie Fletcher, June Markie, William and predeceased by Florence Nolan (late Alphonse), Alice Souliere and Arnold (Pat). Uncle Fred will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances throughout Sault Ste. Marie. Known to many Saulites as "the man who pushed his bicycle all over town." James attended Shingwauk Residential School (Algoma University) as well as Sault Technical School. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. James was a constant source of information and local historian. James was an outstanding Elder of the Missanabie Cree First Nation.
