SPINA, Gennaro - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gennaro Spina, surrounded by his loving family at the Sault Area Hospital on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of Ida for 67 years. Cherished father of Santo (Carmela), Frank (Christine) and Joe (Anita). Loving Nonno of Gennaro (Maureen), Joseph, John Pauol (Brianna), Sherry (James), Sonny (Lindsay), Peter (Marla), Ida, Tony (Kim) and Katerina. Great grandfather of 6. Son of the late Santo and Giuseppina Spina of Italy. Brother of Carmela Puzzo (late Carmen) of Toronto and pre-deceased by Rosina Turco (late Giuseppe), Giuseppina Mauro (late Emilio) and Franchescina Pirozzo (late Eugenio). Son-in-law of the late Pasquale and Giuseppina Esposito of Italy. Brother-in-law of the late Guerino Esposito (late Lina), Michele Esposito (Maria) and Antonio Esposito (Annina) all of Italy. Much loved uncle of Pasquale Mauro (Annina), Vincenzo Mauro, late Tony Mauro (late Linda), Mario Mauro (Cheryl) and Maria Mirabella (Ernesto). Friends may visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. followed by a funeral mass at Holy Family Parish at 2:30 p.m. with Reverend Boguslaw Jaroszek officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations to the SAH Cancer Care Fund would be appreciated by the family.
